So hear I am sitting at 2.3ghz @ 30C @ 1.71vcore on my 2500+.. I decided to up the vcore and go for 200x12.. I posted OK but it wouldn't load windows and brought me to that black screen with options for loading windows.. Ofcourse everytime I say to load windows or load with last used settings that worked, it doesn't.. I ofcourse fiddled a little more, bringing everything back to normal and it still won't load windows.. I set everything to default, clearing the CMOS, and the processor still wouldn't load windows (100x10)..

I have NO clue what the deal is.. To think I had this puppy at stock cooling at 2.3 with great temps, and now this.. Sigh.. I need help big time.. Thanks..

I think you corrupted system files by running at high fsb. You might have to restore or reinstall windows.

But even if I usually ran at 200fsb and only upped the multiplier...

Although, I did up the FSB to 205 and kept the multiplier at 11.5 while upping the vcore to 1.78.. I still don't think that it would necessarily mess up windows..

Does anyone else agree with the above mentioned course of action or could it be something else?

Regardless of the FSB being raised, anytime there is a problem during the bootup there is the potential for system coruption. So even just raising the multiplier could cause that.

Try reinstalling...should work no problem if your getting to that point before the system doesn't work. If it was a processor or other hardware problem, it wouldn't post.

if you don't want to do a full reinstall, maybe a Repair Install will do the trick.

however, i too, think it's time for a reformat

much luck. :)

When this is complete, is there any way to squeez some more performance out of this chip.. I'm at 2.3ghz and at 28C with a vcore of 1.7... I think this chip has much more potential..

Specs are:

2500+ cooled by an SP97 and a custom fabbed 92 x 92 tornado
A7N8X deluxe
WD Raptor
Corsair 3200 XMSC2
AIW 9700pro

I would up the Vcore, it can easily go to 1.825V
up the Vdimm since the memory might need some more voltage, 2.8V/2.9V is good, i prefer the latter but some people feel it is too much for memory. Also, make sure you up the northbridge voltage the asus are stock at 1.5V while the abit are stock 1.6V and everyone raises them to 1.7V and people also do volt mods to get as high as >2V

i think you restart at failed windows loading too much.. caused the windows to corrupt
