Big LCD scratch

I'm wondering if there are any miracle fixes for large scratches on an LCD monitor.

The scratch is fairly deep. It illuminates white when the monitor is on from the backlighting. And measures about half an inch long.

Hoping there might be something I can do to minimize it's appearance. I'm doubtful, but figure it doesn't hurt to ask.

There's a few things you can do to minimize the appearance, but it might also just damage the monitor more depending on what anti-glare coatings they use

By the way, the monitor is a pretty old Samsung 225BW. I don't really use it for much.
