Ok so i have had a TT Big Water Kit for some time now and i love it. It keeps my slightly overclocked system and 2 vid cards very cool and most importantly very quiet. Im thinking about putting this kit into a new system im building and upgrading my own system. Now the question i have is is the a significant gain in performance from a 3/8-1/2 ID tubing to 1/4 ID tubing and if running the larger tubing makes it louder bc of the larger pump needed. I really like the 1/4 tubing and i like compression fiitngs so i was thinking of goin the aqua computer innovatek route but i was wondering if i would be better of spending the same or even less maybe on going w/ DD or swiftech. I just don't want a loud computer and didn't know iff th DD5 pump was super lou or not and would ruin my quiet computer. Thanks for the help in advance.

Big flow or Small Flow??

It's basically personal preference. I've used 1/2" ID tubing and it's big, bulky and a pita to rote in a small space. It's amazing the difference 1/16" will make by going to 7/16" tube.
I'm not going to debate whether low-flow or high-flow is better. I like my high flow system, others will tell you they love their low flow.
As far as the pump is concerned; the d5, mcp-655 is virtually silent imho. Others may disagree, but again it comes down to how sensitive you are to noise (with only the pump and psu on, I can't hear either of them unless I pt my ear on top of either one).
If you want a silent computer, where the only thing you hear is the crickets chirping, this can be done with either type of flow. Don't be put off thinking big systems ae louder because they have bigger pumps/fans.....fan speed can be controlled, and the newer pumps are inaudible.

thank you SpoogeMonkey. I was just curious as too if the pumps were loud or not. I have a large case so im not to worried about room just mmore noise than anything.
Calis the compresion fitting are the same thing you have now on your big water kit. They just screw into the tube. but as far as i kno you can olny get compression fittings in the 8mm/10mm fittings
