Oops forgot a question mark in the title . . .

Well I wasn't paying attention it seems. I was searching for a Hyper 212 Plus using the manufacturer part number. A local store had it listed online and it even says Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus on the webpage. So I gave them a call and went in today to pick it up.

Get home realize the package says Cooler Master Hyper 212 RR-CCH-LB22-GP, bwah bwah!

Of course I can return it but for 35 bucks is the older version still a decent cooler? If it's far inferior to to the newer one I'd rather spend 20 bucks more on a different cooler altogether.

AFAIK all the etailers in Canada are on backorder for the Hyper 212 Plus, if anyone in Canuckistan knows where to find one let me know . . .

If anyone can recommend a decent cooler for 50 bucks or less on an E4400 and Gigabyte P35 DS3L I would appreciate it!

Thanks in advance.

from what ive been reading the 212 plus is better then the 212 but for an e4400 its not really going to matter.. the only reason i could see taking the 212 back and getting the plus model is if you plan to upgrade your system within a year or so to the LGA-1156 or 1366 sockets.. if you dont.. then just stick with the 212 and get a new heatsink in a couple years when you plan to upgrade..

If it was listed as and sold to me as the "Plus" model, that would be more than enough reason for me to take it back. As stated though, it should do just fine for a e4400....However, I am never happy with "fine". :D

If you didn't receive what you paid for, you should most definitely return it .

Finally returned it. It seemed to be an honest mistake, they had a 212 plus in stock after all but I had already ordered an ocz vendetta 2 online. The store I bought the 212 from was canada computers in Ottawa.
