I am using the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme(Lapped) on an E6600(Lapped), but I get weird temps. My Core Temps are both 29C Idle, but my CPU temp is 42C. Should I even worry about the CPU temp and just worry about the core temps? I'm looking to hit 3.6 on it, but I know if I do, the CPU Temp will be very high, while the Core Temps will be fine. Thanks.

My temps are correct, I've tested with many different programs. I am just wondering if I should mainly focus on Core Temps rather than the CPU temp, which there is a big difference between.

Also, could lapping the CPU have caused this problem?

I don't think lapping would have caused this and yes just focus on your Core Temps.
