Here's the thing, on my machines i get nearly the same PPD on SMP as I do on Bigadv![]()
Hmm, maybe an improvement in SMP, or SMP points boost?

each of my bigadv rigs have lost 5000 to 10000 PPD. Even the best of the smp WUs I have got was at best 33KPPD, I usually get 38 to 40KPPD.
some are admittedly better than others. some smp wus are down around 22KPPD, which nearly halves the PPD for that machine.
This is getting really irritating.
Yeah remember that the bonus is not linear, its exponential. Throw 24 thread at a SMP WU with time frames of 1 minute something and you really start busting out some points. Not sure on the mix at the moment as both machines are linux, have no monitor attached and run v7. Have seen some ridiculous points values come through though
On my 970's and 980X rigs the 7000 through 7028 a4 WU's have time frames of 1min. 20sec which give me around 59,000 PPD which is about equal to a 6900 bigadv and around 15,000 more PPD than a 2684.
I've had a couple of those, but I've had more 481 pointers which kill my PPD.... I'd love to have some 2684s.... that would be an improvement for me.
(never thought I'd be happy to have a 2684)
Is this affecting Linux? I tried to start a Linux VM but got a smp Wu.
Exactly! I'll take an SMP standard over an idle client any day.At least rigs are picking up other work to do. Not too long ago they would just sit there and do sweet FA

One of my machines picked up a.....drum roll................................2684 today. Unfortunately, it was one of my Lynnfield I7s, and not one of the 2600K. That particular machine makes about the same PPD with SMP standard as with 2684. With the 2600K machines, there's a big difference.
You could switch the client folders, but I don't know if that is recommendable.
We may be back to normal now. All my SMP clients have -bigadv units now, two 6900s and two 2684s.
All 3 of my i7's pulled bigadv
