I just got this game, but the performance really got on my nerves. I play at 1920x1200 everything high, ragdoll medium, and no vsync; I just got past the mission in demo, the first mission after the "ending". I am only getting 25 fps just by looking at the farm, as the game moves on it drops to 20 avg and 10-15 min. Of course I can get 60 by looking straight into the ground but I highly doubt I can finish the game playing it that way.

Anyway to improve my performance? I know my cpu is holding my system back (or my system is holding my 4870 back to be exact), I am still holding out for i7 mid-range, upgrade is no possible until next summer at least. So I have to work around tweaks to fix the performance issue.

Strange, I'm getting close to 60FPS at 1680 x 1050 max everything. In fact it tears above 60FPS so I put on vsync. Perhaps the game is CPU intensive?

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried both 8.4 hotfix and the new 8.10(?), they gave me slight improvement in Fps. Any other tricks I can do w/o greatly sacrificing graphic to improve performance?

Probably not a massive amount you can do to get it to run faster, you must be CPU limited because your gfx card is excellent

However, there is one thing you could try, make sure all of your gfx card settings are set to application controlled. I know with the Nvidia cards the U3 engine is fussy with control panel settings. best to let the game take care of it. Otherwise there may be some .ini tweaks coming on Tweakguides( if they do a guide)
