I saw a nVidia card made by BFG tech - it was a GeForce 5900XT (overclocked)

Are they a good company? The card looks like it is manufactured very poorly

BFG's are very good. Typically, the are one of the best overclockers. If I ever get a 6800Ultra, it will most likely be a BFG version, followed closely by an Evga.

So, you spend 90% of your time in the showers, and 9% of it being oiled up and playing beach voleyball? And 1% of time in the closet?

BFG cards are far from manufactured poorly or cheaply...those bitches are worth every cent you spend on one...hell the warranty is worth it alone ! the week after next or so ill be ordeirng a BFG 6800u or 6800ue...if they are out :p

Instock date at BBY on the BFG's is 8-15, if you can trust Best Buy.

I work at best buy and that is the date in the system, granted that date has changed 2 times now so a grain of salt is needed.

Congrats to NV on their May "launch" of the NV40 and their August "availability" date.

*Gasps*

Please let me know where you've seen this card or if you are getting this card from someone used. We take great pride in our cards and make sure that they are manufactured with the best components and processes. Feel free to PM me regarding this!

Let me help clear up some confusion:

Any pre-order from BBY.com for the BFG 6800 Ultra OC will be shipping to you between June 28th and July 5th.

You will be able to find the BFG 6800 GT OC in many but not all Best Buy stores starting the second week of July.

In regards to the 8/15 date, that's the BFG 6800 OC ($299)...

I just pre-ordered my BFG 6800 Ultra OC from Best Buy yesterday,

All I can say about BFG is that I have been to the Asylum, and talking to those guys really lets you know they are in it for the gamer, well, and the $$$ of course I'm sure.

BFG goes out of their way to asure only the best quality, fastest, and highest rated parts are used during manufacture. The overclock success of these cards shows they mean business.

Also, with the warranty these guys stand behind, it is difficult for me to imagine buying from anyone else.

Keep up the good work BFG.

On topic, the BFG tech support rates among the best. One of my employees had an older Geforce4 Ti4200 that had gone bad and they replaced it with a Ti4600. Not a bad trade to say the least especially since the Ti4200 were still available.

Does anyone know if BFG are going to start selling cards in europe? Or do any US retailers ship international.

Might just have to do the usual and get it sent to a relative over there and have them post it on.

PS you should see the fecking prices over here the watercooled gainward thing is going for $1054 and the decent priced one are about $700

I have a BFG Asylum 128 Ti4200 and it's a good card.

I look at them first now when looking for my next card because they are a little cheaper than some other cards i've looked at. Now where to get the money......

Actually, there are many people on this forum alone who have an X800 in their hands. Not to mention that the X800 didn't have even close to the paper launch the 6800 did.

I'm not trying to crap on BFG, either. You guys make great products. I'm crapping on NV for launching a product in May and not being able to get one until July, beta drivers or no. If it wasn't ready, just say that. Don't fake it.

Two months' delay is only a small price to pay for using 222 million transistors.

I used to buy Gainward since they were so well made and OC'd well - then I had a few iffy ones come through and gave BFG a try. So far, I've not found a cheaply made card, and they all perform very well, and OC nicely too. I had to Warranty a Ti4200, and BFG actually cross shipped when I gave them my Tracking number.

Quality, warranty (lifetime), and performance are excellent. In my personal system I use a BFG 5700u and it's running well into the 5900 clock speeds with out a lick of articfacting or video issues.

yah, BFG makes quality hardware, and they stand behind them too.

Peace,
Tim

X800PROs maybe but the X800XT is just as hard to come by as the 6800U.
Both companies paper launched with out enough silicon to back up the initial demand....so dont toss things at one side when both are at fault...dont be so one sided man.

so around July5th we should start seeing 6800Us at BestBuy's just not many correct?
What about online retailers? Or do the brick and mortar stores come first?
Either way Ill have one of these and as long as BFG is around...they will have my money, products are top notch and kick ass.
However sherkelman I would need to speak to you about one of the fans on my 5900nu making a funny buzzing sound

Preorder for the Ultras seemed to be closed. The GT's are still available.

The BFG 6800 Ultra OC will be sold on-line at Best Buy only. Best Buy will be shipping their pre-orders and regular demand starting around that timeframe.

There will be many on-line retailers that will have the ability to begin shipping the 6800 Ultra series from us and other board partners on and after the 6/28 street date.

Thank you for your support and please e-mail our tech support at support@bfgtech.com and copy marketing@bfgtech.com so that I can make sure you are taking care of from this forum thread :)

Well once BB gets some back in stock or are ready to take more preorders...ill be in line :) If they dont do anymore preorders and will start doing straight out shipping...hell ill be there as well. Either way Ive been very happy with both BFG 5900nu's and ti4200 so BFG wins my wallet this go around again.
Also Ill email your tech support once I am back home since I am heading out to work right now :(

Grats, BFG.

From todays news:

BFG Technologies Honored:
BFG Technologies is honored by Falcon Northwest for being “The Best of the Best”. It is pretty easy to see why BFG was honored, they put out a damn good card and one of the best warranties in the biz.

BFG Technologies®, Inc. announced today that Falcon Northwest, builders of high-performance gaming PCs, have named BFG Technologies as one of their elite "Falcon Select" vendors. The Falcon Select award is given to those companies that Falcon Northwest recommends unreservedly in almost every application.

No, they dont. The X800 Pros have been out for some time, and the XT's are shipping now. MUCH better than nVidias launch, who had cards for preview about a month before ATi did.

About BFG, I think they are a great company. At least my one dealing with them was. I had to RMA a 5900NU, the time I sent it to them, and got it back, was 7 days. Thats counting a weekend. They didnt hassle me, or give me the run around, and I was talking to a live person in about 20 seconds after I called their number. Much better than the multiple digits and extentions you have to jump thru with other companies.I was very happy with their service.

The power(requirements) and size of the new series 6 by nVidia forced me into an ATI convert. Any chance BFG is going to move over to ATi based boards? Not likely, but I'd buy one if they did.

I don't see a reason to "move" to ATi harware. They might start making it in the future, but what's the point of switching over?

Apologies, definately didn't mean move to exclusively, but rather into the market in general. I am by no means a fanboy for either, just like to have options with a board maker...

Scott Herkelman -

Will Fry's / Outpost.com carry the 6800Ultra OC? If so, what are the dates for them?

My local Best Buy told me that they are not "high volume" enough to get any of the high end 6800 BFG cards.

Thanks

what are the chances of offering the 6800 ultra w/ waterblock with a 1/2 inch ID WB, if you offered one I would be the first in line to buy one. (as it stands the only two AIB makers who offer vid cards w/ WB are BFG and Gainward (only in euro right now though) and neither offer large diameter WB)
