BFG or XFX??

I have yet to use a XFX so I cant really compare the 2. I do however own a BFG 6800 GT OC and have had no problems with it what so ever. I am pretty sure that either way you will be satisfied.

I figured it would lean towards BFG.........prolly shouldve just ordered it right away:)

eVGA and then step-up to 512mb GTX!
But out of those two, I would definitely go with the BFG.

In order of pref:

1 > evga
2 > bfg
3 > xfx

Full disclosure: I own 2x BFG 7800GTX OC, 2x EVGA 7800GT CO and 2x BFG 6800GT OC (both out on loan)... oh, and let's not forget the lowly Sapphire X850XT

 :D

I'd typically recommend BFG or eVGA. I've used XFX once myself without any issues. Although I have been hearing alot of XFX horror stories for some time.

id go for eVGA.

i just went through a very painful RMA with BFG. had a fuxored 6800gt PCIe, they sent me another fuxored one. RMA'd again, took them 2 weeks to get one out the door, and when they finally did, they overnighted me two cards, one if which was completly fuxored, didnt boot at all, and one of which artifacts in ATItool, but nothing else.

im just happy that damn ordeal is over, and i ordered an evga 7800GT to replace the 6800GT. it was cheaper, clocked higher, and eVGA has a better warranty pertaining to changing HSF's and overclocking.

however, id still take BFG over XFX. BFG did make it right in the end.

Thanks guys.....I really appreciate your input...I went with the BFG.....should be a nice upgrade from my X800XL:)

yeah, i honestly have no idea how the they sent out 3 dead cards. i really think it has something to do with teh HSI bridge chip, none of my AGP 6800GT's had this problem. I also never had this problem RMA'ing any other card with them.

(all teh cards had different problems, so i know it was bad cards and not anything else in the system)

Yes it will be. I had two 6800GT's in SLi, and I upgraded to 7800GTX's in SLi and I've been pleased.

I would never buy a card other than a BFG card..... Lifetime warranty...

I called them up to tell them my card stopped working, and they rma'd it with no questions asked.

evga and XFX both have lifetime warranties.

evga warrants the HSF change as well, something BFG does not.

I have BFG. If I had to choose again I would go with EVGA just for their heatsink policy.

i seriously dont understand why people choose BFG over the other two.. they dont even allow aftermarket coolers or overclocking

XFX:

Now, it’s all fairly simple, but here are the Double Lifetime Warranty specifics:

The XFX Double Lifetime Warranty goes into effect once the initial purchaser (owner #1) registers the product with us on www.xfxforce.com. At that time, XFX promises that the graphics card purchased (Product) will remain free from any defects in material or workmanship for the lifetime of the Product, as long as the Product is used properly.
“Proper Usage” is defined as normal wear and tear. Should the Product be modified or damaged as the result of overclocking, tampering, alteration, misuse, abuse, power supply, power application, or repair by other than XFX the warranty is VOID.

arent they saying no tampering like "changing the heatsink"??

I have the XFX 7800 GTX 490 core. I called XFX to ask about the heatsink (I was going to buy a Zalman) and was told that removing the heatsink would be considered "tampering" and would void my Double-Lifetime warranty. Other than that, I love my XFX.
