I have had that motherboard for almost a year now. Well this is my second one because the chipset fan on the first one blew and toasted the chipset.
Anyway, I purchased it thinking it would be a good overclocker, judging from the review. I've been reading that some of you can push it passed the 300HTT mark no prob.
See I couldn't get the first one passed 225, and now this second passed 240. Just want to know what settings you use. Here are my specs.
BFG BFGRNF4U motherboard of course
AMD 3800+ CPU
Corsair twinx1024-3200C2PT (BH5 ICs) (rated for 2-3-3-6, but does 2-2-2-5-1T easy @ 2.8V)
2 Maxtor DM 9 Plus 160GB SATA HDDs
Connect 3D X800 XL
Ultra 500W v-series PSU
Now I know my PSU is rather weak, I'm pretty sure it can handle the load of this system. I tested with an ohm meter all the voltages idle/load and they barely vary.
when I bring the HTT up to 240, I have to lower multiplier to 11x, and put a 166 divider on memory, thus making it run at ddr377. If I raise the chipset voltage, core and vdimm, it won't boot passed 240.
Was just wondering simple stuff like chipset voltage, pci-express frequency, and all the little details that you had to do to make it run close to 300HTT or above. Thanx
