BFG 7800GT, can the fan be controlled?

The fan is too loud for me. It seems to have 2 modes, FULL and MEDIUM. At full it's ridiculously loud, at the lower setting it's ok, but still too loud for my taste. Is there anything that can control the fan speed even further and make it spin slower? The video card is the loudest part in my PC right now and it's annoying. What are my options short of getting rid of the card and getting some shitty passively cooled ATi??

Get the Zalman VF700Cu heatsink, it's quiet and cools extremely well.

yeah, i've heard good things about the zalman, the 7800 isn't listed on it's compatiblity chart but it does fit.

1 small problem.

My case has this bracket that supports the card and it's touching the card on the open side. So I need something that is less than the width of the card, otherwise it will come into contact with the bracket.

Mine is pretty dam loud as well. I spent a lot of time researching good quite comp parts only to have my gt screaming on the inside of my case. O'well just have to turn my ProMedia's up louder
