So right now I've unlocked my BFG, which works great. Now when I try to overclock it to say 400/800, it seems to work ok. In riva tuner, it says i'm at the clock speed, and my scores seem to reflect a decent increase (about 1000 points in 3dMark 2k3, from 9900 to 10900). Now the weird thing is with hardware monitoring turned ON in Riva Tuner. It says my memory clock is 800, but my core clock is only 350?!

Now what I"ve noticed is if I watch my hardware monitoring (let it record history), under CS, the core speed stays the same, but when I turn on 3dmark 2k3, then the core speed goes up to 400. What's going on?

im not entirely sure. but i believe u didn't set it to load for ur 2d applications and u only have it on for 3d. i could be wrong...

That's fine... but CS:S is a 3d application as far as I know, so it should oc for it.

Yeah, only modifying the BIOS allowed me to OC the core. You should try what a couple others suggested in that thread first though and hopefully it'll work for you. Lock the pipes back up and OC the card with Rivatuner and have it boot with the OC'd settings, then unlock the extra pipes. Didn't work on my BFG, but maybe you'll get lucky.
