how noisy is the 6800OC from BFG, they seem like a good deal but iv'e heard that the 2 fans on the HS are loud. How loud exactly? like dustbuster loud? airplane taking off inside my computer loud? or is it just louder than other cards?
I have mine in a Dell 8300, so those computers are quite to begin with. The card is really the loudest thing in the computer, but it really isn't an annoying noise, it is more of a dull hum. Right now I have the TV on and I can't hear the computer over the tv sound. Without the TV on, I can hear the computer, but personally it doesn't annoy me at all.
If I had to pick one of your options, I would say louder then other cards, its not like an airplane, or a dustbuster (although I have heard it described as that, maybe I got lucky with mine, or my case is so heavy it blocks out alot of the sound.)
Also when I bought mine I got it for like $30 cheaper then most of the other manufacturers, so I thought it was a good compromise.
I have the BFG 6800GT, and it has the same kind of cooler. The fans are temperature sensitive. Mine don't make much noise when the card is idling, and when I'm gaming, I never notice it...
It's louder than most card coolers, but not too bad. I'm sure the NU is quiter than the GT anyway.
