I picked up a Geforce 6800OC from bestbuy today, I installed it and everything was severly blurrry. I tried re-installing it several times and even used it on a different computer and had the same problem. Anyone else ever seen this happen and is there any kind of fix? Im pretty sure im just going to get a refund tomorrow and get an Asus 6800GT 128MB. Also, the BFG card did not come with farcry, and it said on the box that it was included.

hmmm i got a bfg and its not blurry at all... considering it didn't come with far cry it sounds like you got a previous return :\

how big is your power supply?
with the upgrade to 6800, I recommend that you upgrade to a quality 480W power supply...(antec, enermax, Cooler Master, etc)

i ask because if you dont have enough power to the system, the video card might crap out

Yea im thinking it was returned before, they got a bunk card or messed it up and then kept farcry. It was still in the shrinkwrap, but im sure they just re-wrap it again in the back or something.

I have an antec 350W Smartblue, voltages were perfectly stable. Games ran fine on the card, everything was just sort of "doubled" making everything horribly blurry. I also ran the card on my other comp which has a 480W PSU and it had the same problem.

I'd wiggle the card around a little and then check your monitor cables. Maybe something was damaged? I don't know. I think you should exchange the card though.

I have had that "moire effect color blur" before with videocards. It happens. The card jsut needs to be RMA'ed/exchanged. I think its caused by bad RAMDAC, but have had it happen on cards after their cooling solutions crapped out...like a fan quit working and minutes after it overheated and some permanent damage was done that caused the 'rainbow blur'.

I've noticed that minorly on my BFG 6800OC. The convergence seems to be off by just a tiny bit overall. I don't know why its like that but getting a new PSU seemed to help. I had a total POS in there before.

I upgraded from a GeForce 4 Ti 4200 to the BFG 6800OC. I thought that the IQ of the BFG was off a bit. I had to mess with my monitor settings quite a bit to get it to look ok. The IQ of the 4200 is still waaaaaayyyyyy better though IMO. Could this be a problem with the 6800 I got?

I had the same problem. 2d looked really blurry with the same card. I turned on Clear Type in the display properties, and that helped a little, but in the end I ended up returning the card anyway.

The earlier version of the PNY 6800 NU )that everyone was raving about buying for 199.95 after rebate from CompUSA on Black Friday) had terrible 2D at resolutions above 1024x768. Maybe this was a revesion 1 of the reference design for all card vendors? I exchnged my card and got a great one that does not have this problem, and all the pipes unlock.

Obviously your card is bad. Return it.

i got a PNY 6800 NU, unlocked 16/6 and have no problems with 2d at all. i think some cards might be bad? where do u turn on cleartype? i just set my reso higher then 1024x768. it wasn't blurry at all. actually i've only seen 2 ppl in the PNY BF thread that said it was blurry. the rest was just about the poor quality of the card itself = most of em had caps or things falling off there card.

I eneded up getting a refund for the card, im gonna order a 6800GT off newegg.
