bfg 6800gt problems

hey guys....just got everything for building my friends new computer on friday and tried to put up everything last night
well everything went fine and all, nothing missing nothing broken..or so it seemed
i looked at everything real quick and scanned it to make sure that nothing was wrong but i guess i overlooked something on my video card...i put it in and tried to test it to see if all teh fans were running (the cpu, memory, videoc ard, psu, and mobo were the only things hooked up) and well, everything was fine except the vc fan...took it out this morning to take a closer look and heres what it looked like...

well....im 99% sure that i didnt install it incorrectly and screw it up...i might have but i doubt it...anyone know if this can be soldered back on? or will i have to return it to zzz? (i hate the 15% restock fee)

i dont see any thing wrong and is that new HSF on the 6800GT?
id like to see a pic of the whole card
 
really? well, if u look at the bottom right corner, theres that lil black square that is not sitting down....im assuming th at its supposed to be sitting down like the other one next to it, and heres a pic of the whole card:

not sure if its the new hsf (first nvidia card ever) but i wish it was the green one...that things is damn sexy imo
i want to make sure taht its not anything else and that its the video card...dont wanna end up paying 50 bucks for 15% restock...its like the rebate down the drain :( :mad:

as for the HSF it is new and DAMN ITS NICE :cool: :eek:

yeah, i called up bfg and they said they wud rma it if zzz wouldnt...do u know if they charge to send it? and if so how much? im in california and man its hot

id just go with BFG just set up an RMA today and mail it out tonight USPS i think you can get like 15bucks or 2 day or so and see if thay will cross-ship BFG dosnt charge you any thing normaly i love there suport :D

well, i just talked to my dad and he said if zzz doesnt charge the 15% restock then ill get it from them (gota love free 2nd day but hate the restock lol) but if they do....bfg here i come

is that the new BFG fan on there? hmm my bfg has the dual fan with blue led lights.. wouldn't mind slapping that on my card. wonder if BFG sells those seperatley and while keeping warranty. anyone know?
 
hey what is the exact problem you're having?, its ok if that is sticking up a little bit as long as its still contacting its solder points.

i put in my memory, mobo, cpu, hsf, and the video card to test if it would post up on the bios...is there anything else i need? also, the video card fan is the only one that doesnt run
 
Looks like they took the Heatsink fan off a 7800GT and customized it. That card looks way better than my BFG 6800GT, I hate it when they come out with a better version of the same thing once you've bought one already.

yup
also the "fan only" connectors wont work when i hook them up to my fans but the 4pin connectors work fine...i have an antec truepower 2.0 truecontrol
