Can We Get Some People With The Bfg 6800gt With The New Two Fan Cooler To List Their Overclocks, And Some People With The Old Cooler To List Their Oc Clocks. A Little Compare And Contrast Action...

does it take longer to type like that?

I have the regular bfg 6800gt oc, can't help you.

I've got the standard cooler on mine...

I'm not even coming close to stessing it, yet it EASILY overclocks to 390/1100.
Runs at 55C idle and about 72C full load

I might try and bump it up to 400/1100 later this week.

You know, my scores never go up when I OC my video card. In fact, my 3dMark03 scores actually drop.
I don't know why OCing the video card is so hyped up, when you only get a couple frames, if that.

Look at some reviews for proof. They OC the card by 50mz and they only get 2 or 3 FPS differance.
Now OCing the CPU can make a differance, but the video card? I dunno.

cuz its [H]ard :p and then you are the kid with the fastest card on the block ^^

Nope it was just caps lock,, You could help me i wanted to get a real list of comparison between the people overclocking with the reference fan as opposed to those with the new one.

Try actually looking around the forum..? I'm sure I saw a few posts marked NEW BFG FAN and that crap. Basically all OCs are luck of the draw with GT's. Some will clock to 425, others won't even go to 400.

I've got the revised cooler, so far i'm at 400/1040.

Memory doesnt seem to want to go anyhigher, But I can't complain, this card is great!

NoGodForMe: Make sure you select 3D performance in the menu when OCing, if you're using coolbits.

as long as those new coolers are running stable at 400 i dont see the problem with them..... ps word on the street is compusa retail stores just got a bunch of the PNY cards

i've got the old cooler and my card does 435/1170. my temps are kinda high, but it's also very hot in my apartment.

When I overclocked mine, my 3dMark03 score rose by almost 800 points, and I only overclocked 20MHz on the core and 100MHz on the memory.

Doom3 ran smooth before the overclock at 1280x1024 Ultra Settings, and now it runs even better!

I think you're doing something wrong... :)

I've got a BFG Tech 6800GT (reference nv heatsink/fan) inside my SN85G4V2 shuttle, got it clocked at 420/1100 at the moment - ~12500 3dmark2k3 marks.

looks like the reference fans are better, i wonder if a vantec pci fan would cease to work on the new card because one of the fans blows out while the other blows in

Dont think your vantec should make much of a difference as far as cooling or heating up your 6800. May help in the long run, but you dont know until you try it.

I used to use one in my main pc... but switched it to an older PC just to move a bit more air and also suck the dust out the bottom of the case. Swapped the fan upside down in the bracket and works like a charm. :)
