Just came back from best buy with a new 6800gt BFG for $389 (10% off weekend).
However they didn't have the regular 6800gt in stock that has the two cooler fans. Instead they had BFG's with just one cooler fan. Is this a new design? I went ahead and bought it but I haven't heard anything about the 6800gt having just one fan. Wierd because last week they just had the regular two fan version.

that is the origional nvidia reference design, and is far better in cooling than BFG's shitty two fan design

I thought it was strange since I've only seen the aluminum dual fan ones on the shelf. Wonder why the old design would be back in stock. I guess they could be refurbs or something. Maybe they've been on the pallet in the warehouse for the past 5 months
with all the xt-pe's. :)

I love the cooler these things use, I actually was able to keep the fan+memory cooler on while I replaced the GPU cooler, and it looks GREAT!

I got one with the same reference design as you 3 weeks ago and i'm really pleased with it. As many owners told, the 2 fan design is not the best one and i think they may be reverting back to the reference design due to excess RMA about instabilities at default OC speed from BFG.
