BFG 6800 Ultra Overclock?

Hey,

My wife finally gave in and 'authorised' (See definition: whipped) me to purchase one of these and was curious at to what kind of overclocking results I can expect?

Anyone have any experience in overclocking and willing to post their results it'd be greatly apprecited.
 
I've got an eVga 6800 Ultra.

Overclocked to 443/1180 - at 445 core, I start to see artifacts.

At 1200 memory, the coolbits will reset it to default (1100). At 1180 it stays.

One of these days, I'm going to get a VGA Silencer for my 6800U and use some AS5. It's fast nuf right now so I'm not going to bother.
 
I have a BFG 6800 Ultra overclocked to 475 core (stock cooling) and 1225 memory :)
 
460/1220 is the max i can get with stock cooling.

Been playing doom3 @450/1200 since I got the card.

Also, where did you get your card?
 
I got my card from www.bigfootcomputers.com

Shipping was 9$ and arrived the next day.

I work in Kanata and live near downtown Hull.


Edit: I just checked the website and there getting some more on Friday.

I had actually ordered a Leadtech 6800GT but they were taking forever to come in and last week when I saw they were getting the BFG Ultra's I couldn't resist.
 
I think I could get more out my BFG but for right now this is great...see sig

To answer the thread poster 431/1180 coolbits auto detect . I ran 450/1200 stable except Doom3
 
if u OC the GT...how much shorter are u cutting the life span of the card do u think? Im planning on buying a GT and OCing to ultra speeds but i want to keep this card for awhile.

i can't state how true this statement is. I have two buddies that arent married but basically are. they have been living with their gf's for over 3 years, and *rattle rattle* those chains are mighty short. Fantastic news on your part getting her to comply, hell i cant even authorize myslef to buy one right now...damn washer dryer, stupid need for clean clothes.

Fortunately, my wife happens to be rather forgiving of my computer addiction. She even tries to take an interest. She's capable of building her own machine now, which is good... :)
 
oh see before i had pity for you, now i hate you! My lst GF used to game with me and actually could program circles around me. But all teh girls i have been seeing as of late "oh computers, thats dumb, how can you spend so much time in front of a monitor." My response has been, "gotta kill time somehow while you spend all that time in front of a mirror." apparently that doesnt go over to well. congrats on the catch bud, dooes she have a sister? i'mm all about sugar mommas
 
She has a sister, however her sister is currently engaged to be married. Your welcome to try your luck though..... lol

i am not sure but I suspect that 400/1100 wont have a significant effect. Once you start hittting 425 on core or higher who knows. I know that my Ultra runs 6c cooler at 425 /1100 than my GT did at 400/1100
