BFG 6600GT OC problem?

This is perhaps a stupid question but l'm not sure if my BFG 6600GT OC is working properly. Just out of interest, I thought I'd use Cool Bits to have a nose at the clock speeds etc. I didn't particularly have it in mind to try any overclocking but I was interested because the BFG comes overclocked out of the box. Anyway, to my surprise I found a core clock speed of 300MHz. This card is supposed to be clocked to 525MHz and even the reference 6600GT should be 500MHz. It looks to me like something's wrong here but am I missing something obvious?

If it helps, it's an AGP card on an nForce 3 motherboard from MSI.

no, everything is fine

300Mhz is your 2D core clock.....for example when you're just doing your work

when you do anything in 3D, it will jump right back up to 525Mhz. ALL 6600GT's are new nvidia cards are like this....they dont use their full horsepower until its needed....

if you select "manual overclocking" in the section of the nvidia control panel, a pull-down menu lets you set both 2D and 3D clockspeeds....

i have a 6600GT too, and i have it overclocked to 550/1050 mhz, but in the windows desktop it is always 300Mhz......

hope that clears up some of your dilemma's ;)
 
as he pointed out your fine. your card will ramp up to that speed when its needed.
