The unit has a lifetime warranty, so I'd just call support and get a replacement.

If you just have that one GTS, absolutely.
My big complaint with the unit was that it wasn't efficient and lacked PFC. I was actually surprised it held up to the load it held up to on my load tester, but I can't give a PSU a good score for 75% efficiency and no PFC when you can get both for the same price. But you already have the unit, paid for, and a lifetime warranty assures you won't need to buy another unless you get an 8800 Ultra or get a second card to SLI your GTS.

It actually doesn't help the consumer much and PFC does add to the cost of making a PSU.
A PSU consumes a lower VA when it has PFC. But US residential customers are charged per KW on their electric bill, not per KVA so it doesn't really matter to us. In the EU, APFC is required.
It's ok with me if a PSU being sold in the US doesn't have PFC, just don't go charging me the premium I would pay if I'm getting a non-PFC unit. Know what I mean? It's the whole "get what you pay for mentality."
