If it has a Phillips chip on it, then VIVO should still work, since the Leadtek card follows the reference design as well, with the exception of the cooler. The only time that VIVO and TV-out problems arise is when you try to flash a 59XX card that doesn't have the Phillips SA7108 chip on it with a bios of a card that has the SA7108 chip. The GFFX 59XX's that don't have the Phillips SA7108 chip on them use the on die TV-out encoder built into the NV3X. This and the amount and type of RAM, and cooling solutions are the only differences between various GFFX 59XX's.
So to sum it up as long as you flash a 59XX card that has a Phillips SA7108 chip on it with a bios from a card that has a Phillips SA7108 on it, VIVO should still work.
The TV related problems arise when you try to flash a board without the Phillips chip with a bios from a board that has the Phillips chip or vice versa.

The Leadtek 5950 has a philips SA7108. If your BFG 59XX has VIVO it should have it the philips chip as well. To make sure you can check your board, the philips chip looks like this:

If your board has a empty square of pins where the phillips chip goes like the ASUS in this picture, then you will need to find a bios from a board that doesn't have this chip on it if you want TV-out to continue to function.

Comparing the two boards in the second picture you can see the difference between a card which has the chip (the reference board in that picture) and one that doesn't (the ASUS).

I thought the bios flashed it to 5900U or 5950 speeds, whichever bios you picked.

Ok, I misunderstood you. With the bios flash, you are at 475/475, correct? Thats the default 5950 speeds if Im not mistaken.
So you can get just 20Mhz core, and 25Mhz higher on the memory with the flash. What are yout top overclocking speeds, with and without the flash?

Understood now. I may not flash mine then.

Well, its for my daughters SFF case. I have a 9800XT in my machine.
Ive never flashed a card, and neither of my PC's have a floppy in them. I do have another that does.. just doesnt have any ram in it. Ill probably use it to try and flash, if I do.
I know what you mean. I had a 5700 Ultra working in my loaded SFF HTPC (512MB, P4 2.66GHz, 120GB, WinTV PVR250, 4x DVD burner) and the system wouldn't up power on with an AIW 9700 Pro installed, even after I unplugged everything but the AIW 9700 Pro, CPU and memory. And the HTPC had a 230W PSU in it.Originally posted by fallguy
Looks like I wont be doing any flashing... the card doesnt want to do anything 3D. Whenever I try.. just get a black screen. Probably the small PSU in this SFF, but then my 9800XT worked fine in there. :sigh:
