is that neccessary? You must be the one that has everything that is better than everyone else's...pfft

Anyway, for those that are actually here to give a brother a hand. I already own this card, it was free of charge, and I would like to mention it runs 'Far Cry' at a steady acceptable FPS, and overclocks to 370/570 on air.

Just curious if it can be flashed, and if so where can I find the info?

Yeah it's necessary for I hate it when people support Nvidia's crap products.

A GeForce4 on the other hand I have no problem with and have owned several.

Yeah a fanboy that has owned a GeForce2, GeForce3, and several GeForce4's.

I still have the GeForce3, but I'm a fanboy because the GeForceFX sucks.

ok,ok...easy big fella

well, this FX 5600 scores 6208 (1024x768x32) on 3DMARK2001 with a 1.3 T-Bird CPU and 512 DDR2100. I think thats acceptable:)

so did my geforce 2

nvidias cards are not the cards you flash all over the place like atis.. the only nvidia cards that will flash are the 5900 series. Nvidia builds all of their seperate cards on different gpus, that is the 5200 is different from the 5600 which is different from the 5700 from the 5800 to the 5900 blah blah. And between the different flavors of each one, generally the only difference is the clock speeds, so flashing really accomplishes nothing. on the other hand, ati tends to build multiple cards on the same gpus, just with completely different board/pcb capabilities. This is especially true with the r300 (all 9500s and 9700s) as the same gpu was used on all of them, just with different memory busses and piplelines. Moving on to the 9800s.. were basically just slightly improved 9700s, which is why they still deal with flashing. ATI has basically relied on two architectures for the last 2 years.. r300 and its descendants.. and the 9600 core (cant think of code) and descendants. Thus, most ati cards are strikingly similar to the next model up, and sometimes are physically the exact same, just software neutered, which people reverse.

after 10+ replies someone finally answers his question instead of suggesting him a better card. Nice work guys:rolleyes:

The level of arrogance here really gets to me sometimes.

gf fx 5600 is a fine card. No its not a fx 5900/9800, but it will run any game on the market with acceptable quality.

When people ask quesitons, dont flame them. Answer the question. Troll would be the right word :)
