see if the card is getting juce, unplug the external 6 or 8 pin (edit: dual 6 pin, yank them both)power it should squeel at you about not haveing enought juice , that will at least tell you if the card is alive. it could still be the card or the psu or anything inbetween. but at least it will get you in the right direction

Then it sounds like the card, that power supply has enough juice (assuming it's not bad) to power that card, make sure everything is seated properly and make sure both 6 pins are plugged in to the card

yep I plugged in both pins. I even tried the adapter . It would power on and power off power on and give a no signal sign.

There is no doubt that it could be a number of things, but I'll need some more specifics before we have a definitive answer.

Just out of curiosity, what does the system report your 12V rail at BB?

There are two DVI ports on the card, try both. With my GTX 260 only one works. I was in the same position when I bought mine.

How much amps does the 12v rail have on that psu? Whats the requirement listed in the manual for that card? My Evga 275 is listed as a minimum of 40 amps on the 12v rail

The specs say you need 42 combine amps to run the card . on each 12v rail I think its 19 amps on each.on another forum some guy said he was running a gtx 280 card on his. I can exchange the card , but I want to make sure that its the card and not the power supply.I tried both dvi slots and the 6 pin adapter also but no go on each.

I'm running the same card on a BFG 650W PSU that's only got a combined 40A between the 2 12V rails. It runs just fine despite the apparent 42A requirement. System is still rock-solid, even OCed the card to 696/1546/1195 and the CPU to 3.62GhZ, stressed it, and the system never failed. It is most likely the card.
