Sooooooo apparently this has not been fixed since beta so maybe you guys can help. BF3 keeps crashing, with no explanation.

SP works fine, I thought it was temps but my 5870 sits pegged at about 77C during SP with no issues, and this is as high as it goes in MP too (until it crashes).

Essentially...I load up a server, play for a little, then the game closes and Origin says "Connection to server lost". Don't know if a computer stability issue, connectivity issue, or something else. All I know is that the game isnt telling me anything and I am not sure what else to do

Anyone else have a similar experience?

are you using 11.10 ver 3 drivers? once I updated it to 11.10 ver 3, most of the crashes stopped. I'm using a 5870 too.

The same thing was happening to me last night. Battlefield had something posted on their facebook account about network issues affecting the PC servers, so hopefully it's something that can be easily resolved.

I couldnt complete a single round due to this last night, i probably lost 5-10k points all in all due to crashing. Same error.

Didnt do it the ngiht before though.

Joys of origin. I'm sure it won't get better this weekend...

Ugh! Don't remind me :(

This has happened to me (2 or 3 times) when talking on skype with friends in the game -- they all dropped to desktop at the same exact time that I did. This leads me to believe it's definitely an issue on Origin's end.

While Origin and the terribad Battlelog have a lot to do with this, it will get better!

I've been playing Battlefield games for years. This is just typical, week 1 type stuff for a new Battlefield game. Relax, they'll get it together.

Yeah upgraded to 11.10 ver 3. Same issues :(

Im just going to play single player i guess

So just a heads up. I think the issue has to do with NAT traversal (firewall). Hooking up my computer directly to my modem (bypassing router/firewall) and I am not longer disconnecting from games.

Potential fix: You probably need to open a bunch of ports, or bypass your firewall until EA learns how to do things correctly.

UNFORTUNATELY, now my game stays running long enough to which point my computer completely freezes. I cannot use my computer and the my sound is outputting odd noise as if its repeating the same 10ms sound clip over and over again. Any ideas?

So the issue is punkbuster and realtek integrated audio.... Solution is to get another sound card.

I've been playing on non pb servers with no issues

Are you sure you lose points? I think those accrue real time. I might be wrong.

Cliffs for things ive learned:

1. Random disconnects from games appears to be caused by your firewall. After I bypassed my router, this issue completely disappeared. I tried to open up the ports for BF3 but that didnt seem to help. Theres some goofy shit EA must be doing and it eventually disconnects you.
2. If you game freezes on you, and your sound starts repeating rapidly, it appears to be an issue with Punkbuster. If you play on a non punkbuster server this issue goes away. Ive read that this issue is known to be in confict with onboard realtek audio. See here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/960869-battlefield-3/60791887

At this point I can consistently play a game of BF3 online when im plugged directly into my modem and on a non PB server...lame because theres already cheaters on bf3. I got some extra routers at work im going to try. And I guess im buying a new sound card.... I have never spent so much time/money to play a god damn video game.

i cant stand BF3, i seriously want a refund. non-stop crappy servers, lag, crashes. Origin blows. Totally unsatisfied.

I checked my battlelog around 10pm and the unlocks and points were there! I guess something had to sync up with some other thing-a-ma-jigger :)
