I just got Brigadier General on BF2142, but now it doesn't give me a point goal for the next rank, Major General. Supposedly, Major General, Leuitenant General, and Supreme Commander have no point bracket. How do you get them?
The top 3 ranks are handed out on a weekly basis. Basically, the top XXX people for that week get the lowest of the three, the top 50 or so get the next rank, and the top 1 might get the top position.
I don't know the actual numbers though.

so basically it is near impossible to get picked to be one of those ranks. Since I hit the highest rank that you can get via points, I kind of feel like I have no more motivation to play the game. One of the main reasons I played so much and why the game was fun was because of the unlocks you are trying to get and the new rank that pops up each time you reach one. If it wasn't for the ranking system and unlocks that you can get, I don't think that I wouldn't have played as long as I did or am playing.
I believe for supereme commander it is 2.0 KDR (which is cake!), 1.5 for 2nd rank and 1.0 for 3rd rank.
Here is the official answer to ranking up to the three major ranks (Major General, Lieutenant General and Supreme Commander)
These are known as the 'decay' ranks and are awarded to the top 76 players in the world who have the highest score (experience points) and have reached the 40th rank. The rank is based on the previous week total amount of experience and divided as follows:
Major General - 50 players
Lieutenant General - 25 players
Supreme Commander - 1 player
You don't get any unlocks for being this rank
There are three criteria needed in order for your weekly amount of earned Career Points to be added to your total Career points, these are:
- Reached the 40th rank (Brigadier General)
- 2000-5000 In a Round Score during the week
- K/D Ratio of 1-2 (average during the week)
So in basic terms:
MG - 50 players - 2000 points - 1 K/D
LG - 25 players - 3000 points - 1.5 K/D
SC - 1 player - 5000 points - 2 K/D
Please be aware that some of these scores and K/D ratios *may* have changed since the original document, and these are just guidelines
I got to brig general and stopped playing since I was literally winning every round by a good margin over the 2nd place peopleThen I started to play to win maps and realized that one person can't make a whole team act as a team and win.
So I switched to SupCom and STALKER. I'll go back to 2142 soon though.
is this a quite recent development? cuz as far as i know, you can get major gen with 180,000 pnts and 1250 hours of play, and lt. gen with 200,000 pnts and 1440 hours of play time. is that not the case anymore?
i too have found that being completely on your own doesn't accomplish much. you can get stuff done on your own if you have an attentive commander who responds to your requests. i play on my own all the time as a squad leader, that way i can call for supply and vehicle drops. so long as the commander grants those requests, you're golden. it's nice to have a UAV flying over-head when you ask for it while you're trying to cap a flag solo, and then get a vehicle dropped so you can head to the next flag.
Are you refering to Battlefield 2, by any chance?
I also just got promoted to Brigadier General, how do I get the rest of my unlocks?
