BF2 won't open

Try changing the in game resolution to 1280x1024 using a different monitor and then plug in the LCD. Give more details with your next reply.
 
6800NU with 77.72 drivers
Hyundai L90D+ (1280x1024@60hz native res)

The splash screen appears, monitor turns blacks, then comes back to desktop.
 
edit videodefault.con to allow all refresh rates change the 0 to 1 path to file is C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Settings
 
before you got the lcd you had your ingame video settings over 60hz, lcds cant really handle that high of a refresh rate so it causes it to just close.
 
Delete the configuration profiles for the game. That should resolve the issue.

That's interesting, because in my experience, if the refresh rate was too high, then the screen would just be unreadable and you wouldn't be able to exit it.

But, it's common for the game to terminate with no error message as it's loading when DirectX or the video drivers are corrupted.
