Ok sorry for another post.

Ok what ever res I set it to it still looks huge even at 1600x1200. What is the problem now. Huge Map, Huge everything.

Yea like maps, squads, chosing your weapons. yea when you tab out to see options, ect.

Yes, they are a set size, you cannot change them no matter what resolution.
 
This is a bit off topic, but if you want to get widescreen resolutions you have to do it from the command line.

Change your BF2 shortcut to target something like this:

"C:\games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +szx 1920+szy 1200"
 
Yeah it's a good forum but for this he can probably get away with just doing said shortcut, and knowing that's about as good as it gets, and I like it! I dunno, I read all that stuff over there and this is pretty much all you walk away with. It's a bit zoomed in, so you don't get extra peripheral vision, but your 3d characters and so on shouldn't be fat. 2D overlay (HUD etc.) will be stretched.
