So have they just permanently f-ed the VoIP in BF2 or what? It hasn't worked for me since I patched, I'm wondering if everyone else has the same issue, or if there's a fix, or what. I'd search myself but I'm lazy... and late for work... and I"ll probably forget about this if I don't ask now.

COME ON, there's like 50 people+ in this forum who play BF2, and not a single one of you can tell me whether your VOiP works or not!?

I've only played two or three games with people who have headsets, but its worked flawlessly for me. This is also after the patch.

Well VOIP has rarely worked for me to begin with, on all the servers that had it enabled I could only ever find one that allowed me to use it. The only time I talk now anyway is when I play with my cousin and I just setup a teamspeak server. So im not sure if it is broken or not.

It all depends on your fellow players. It's been a week or so since I played with anyone that bothered to talk, but just last night one of my squad was calling info out. Nice when you get some com going.

I have a Ventrilo server for me and my friends though.

I've never used the VOIP in-game. I always use Ventrilo or Teamspeak outside the game.

Some servers do not support.

I have not used it since 1.01 but it worked fine.

My only complains are.
1) No support for USB headsets.
2) Sound of VOIP is too low, you need to be able to jack it up.

i only heard a few people actually use it in the hours ive been in a squad.

umm we asked for new orders during a map and a southern guy (lol) was like (in southern accent) "kill the enemy, thats you objective"

yeah, not too many people use it

So... ranked servers aren't required to turn on VoIP? I thought that was one of the requirements from EA?

>1) No support for USB headsets.

The Commander Edition ships with a USB headset, so I think you're... well, wrong.

I have a usb headset/mic and it works fine. You can adjust the volume for both talking and listening, as well as the threshold level.

I have the Logitech USB 350 model. It's pretty good. The bass is so loud I actually felt one of the headphone cups lift off my ear. :p

What I mean by no USB headset support is that there is no channel seperation for the voice channel. I would like voice over the earphones and game sound over the speakers. I have played with the sound levels but I guess maybe they are not working correctly. Voice always sounds pretty low and when you are in a vehicle, the engine usually obscures the voice.

I was never really a fan of the Bf2 VoIP. Since the new version of vent came out i have been using that as it seems to work better than bf2's VOIP ever did.
