Does anyone play BF2 on a 9500 Pro and what resolutions are you able to play out?

I would like to play at 1024x768 and eye candy is nice but not necessary because I am looking for the bad guys not at the grass.

on my 9800 pro, i get about 800x600, medium settings, with a little lag. :( so yours will probably perform worse.

My 9800Pro lets me play at 1024*768 all settings high except textures medium and 2*aa just fine :)

Rest of system is an AMD64 3200 and 1.5 gig ram.

Dano.

Thats strange... maybe its because i only have 512 mb of ram. I have an xp 2800, so that might not be helping too. however, my friend has and an amd64 3200, 1gb of ram, and the same card as me, and he only gets like 5 fps more than me on the same settings. Are you using any special configs?

I bet you would notice less stuttering if you had more ram. 512mb is too little for BF2.

On a 9600 Pro burned in at 4x AGP (old motherboard was 4x max, could not get it to run 8x on the new one, tried on other boards after seeing this too) I get medium-low settings running 1280x1024 with 30-40 fps. I plan on getting a 6800 vanilla and softmodding it though.

No special configs at all, d3d settings for the radeon drivers are all set to Application prefrence.

you should be able to play 800x600 low/med settings no problem... maybe a little better. using a 256-bit 9500np i recently sold (on nf2/m2400) w/out softmod and stock speeds) i was running 800x600 low/med settings with an average of about 40fps iirc. it's not going to look pretty but what can you do?

With the system in my sig I play at 1078x768 with all settings on medium just fine.

First of all i would like to say hello as im a newbie to this forum, so....hi :)
Im running my BF2 @ 1024x768 all settings on low to maximise performance, i've been playing BF2 all fine for a while now but it had some stuttering problems with laoding the data into my stick of 512mb DDR PC3200, so i found an old stick of PC2700 and i wacked it in there and overclocked it a bit.

Since then the stut-stut-stuttering has ceased, but recently i've had problems with my VPU on my ATI Radeon 9700 Pro crashing and messing the game up. it often freezes the game then ATI's handy little tool "VPU RECOVER" pops up in the background telling me my VPU has stopped responding to my display drivers......

Not sure if its my overclocked PC2700 or the graphics card on its way out (only brought it about a month ago) but i'll down clock the FSB a lil and report back.

System specs ATM:
AMD Athlon XP 1800 overclocked to 1.62Ghz
512mb DDR PC3200 + 128mb DDR PC2700 (FSB @ 294Mhz)
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
Asus VIA KT400

Cheers for reading my essay, Peace...

I used to have a 9500NP (unsoftmodded, the mod didnt work) that I gave to my brother so he can buy the game for his kid, he has 1.25g of ram and probably the minimum required processor speed. I think it will work the same as my brother-in-law running a 2.8 p4 (533 fsb), with same memory (1.25) and a GF-5600. I could be wrong..

Thanks for all of the replies. They were very helpful.

It sounds like it may be time to do the PCI-Express upgrade even though I was wanting to wait until early winter.

Or, I may just stick with Call of Duty and Desert Combat for now.

My daughter thinks she has to go to college doesn't she? ;)
