Hey I'm just reinstalling BF2 since I'm bored with WoW. I was wondering what are the hottest mods that people actually play?

its not a great mod, yet you have to pay for it...weird.
well from what i've heard, PoE2 (or something like that) is pretty much one of the best mods for BF2

If one more person bashes BF2142, i'm going to piss on thier face. Do you actually know what a "mod" is? Many games, including Rainbow Six, America's Army Unreal Tournament, ALL use the "unreal engine" and can therefore be considered a mod. Just because they used the same game engine as BF2 doesn't mean it's a peice of shit like you all think it is. Now for some useful feedback:

The best mod to my knowledge is PoE 2 over at http://www.pointofexistence.com/ . I actually just installed it yesterday :) it's alot of fun. The maps are really beautiful, and are usually lush with dense forest, or snow. Give it a try! Note that you need to install v1.0 and v1.1.5 patch.

Good for you getting bored with WoW! I seriously think so many people play that game because everyone else does... anyways...

Only problem is, you actually can run 2142 as a bf2 mod. It's been done before, all it requires is a little copy + paste.

Otherwise, poe is one of the best mods out there, though I prefer sandbox.
 
Point of Existence 2 has about 400 servers and about 20+ active at any given time. With all the hype surrounding Forgotten Hope 2 it's sure to have as many servers as POE2 if not more. Thanks to the ranking system most mods have medicore followings so people will buy EA mods like AF, EF, and 2142. EA doesn't want another mod with the playerbase of DC to happen.
 
Agreed, POE2 is the best mod of BF2 I've seen yet. "Nations at War" (NAW; Google it) is fun too, but not as 'pretty' as poe2.
 
PoE2 is the most played mod for BF2 and it's fun. I also played Project Reality a little bit, too and it's a LOT different than BF2 or PoE2. Hit up www.planetbattlefield.com and you can check out lots of mods and news.

POE2 is the best, and probably the most played. Desert Conflict is a good one, and is a lot like DC for 1942. Another one you might or might not like is the Project Reality Minimod, which is aimed at adding realism.

One more I remember messing with that I thought was fun is Nations at War, but I dont know if anyone even still plays or what?


I'm waiting for someone to make a Cops & Robbers mod for BF2 with stuff like the N. Hollywood Bank shootout :eek:
