I was going to go buy CoD, but now I hear that it's a one-weekend game and BF1942 has better MP. Which do you perfer?
 
I would definetely get BF1942, then d/l the desert combat mod. But i strongly reccomend you get at least another 256mb stick of ram or it is not gunna be an enjoyable experience.
 
BF1942 Desert Combat. Got helal bored with COD after I beat single player and played MP for 1-2 weeks. BF1942 is a memory hog, you might wanna look into getting 1gig of ram.

Yeah for the money I'd say BF1942 gives you more replay value, but if you like infantry multiplayer better than focusing on huge maps with vehicles to get around, CoD offers that and the single player is some of the most enjoyable WWII action ev4r. Whatever floats your aircraft carrier :D

Seriously now damnit, BF1942 has MUCH more replay value. Grab it, download Desert Combat and be happy with life.

seriously, i was a hardcore DC fan for a long while but then i finally started playing CoD and it was like a great light went off. i mean DC is great and all but it just seems super duper laggy weird slow. and CoD is so tight and clean and every game i join is sub 100 ping all the time.

CoD all the way.
 
I think they are two completely different games. CoD maps are a lot smaller, hence a lot of CQ type engagements. BF1942 maps are large and vehicles dominate over infantry.
 
DO not forget Desert combat also has many CQ style maps such as lostvillage, basrahs edge, basrah nights, sea rigs and urban siege. Also it has 2 other CQ maps from original BF, stalingrad and berlin

In BF1942, have fun with the aneurysm you'll get every time you're stuck as an infantryman (at least 25% of the time, much more if you don't camp and wait for vehicles to spawn) because the non-vehicle part of the game in BF1942 / DC seems like a complete afterthought. That isn't exactly to say CoD is superior though, because while the first person combat in that game is better (obviously) it gets old after a week or two, because it ends up being the exact same scenarios over and over again.

I'd say screw 'em both and get Raven Shield.
 
BF 1942 is ruled by tards after the new year, i liked the cod demo yet i would never play that engine,ever. feels unnatural. join BF1942 an frag a tard.

I agree, also I'll add you might want to get a better video card for sure. I don't think they even make Radeon 8500LE 64MB anymore.

Definitely BF1942. And please don't join the retard plane-camping crowd. The main purpose of the game is to cature flags / kill enemies to reduce the opponents tickets to nothing. In other words, pound the ground on foot to learn how to fight.

I agree with you there, but, like last year after Xmas, the 10 year old retards with A.D.D. start not showing up on the servers so much by the end of January, and the new guys that stay usually have firgured out the real purpose of the game by then, and play more team-like.

in any damn server i went to on bf1942 there was no teamplay whatsoever. The engine is crap - u shoot someone and he doesnt die even if u empty the whole damn clip. The game has tendency to lag alot.

I would say cod has way better engine, its smoother, cleaner, and not full of idiots tking u.

Once the Hypnotic spell from the new "eye candy" in COD wears off, You`ll start to notice the "Simplicity" of It`s GAMEPLAY :D
 
i think CoD just looks way nicer. but then again BF1942 has way bigger maps.

but CoD looks more real and feel more real. but multiplayer sucks. BF192 multiplayer is nice.

id say go with BF1942, games arent fun when there only good for single player:p

1: If you want teamplay so bad play with friends or join a clan.
2: You have real bad aim.
3: I almost never get lag. You need to use ASE and have a bunch of good servers picked out.
4: TKers are easy to remove. They leave when they get whooped. Switch sides and grab a M-82. Then you get some n00b target practice at the same time.
 
COD looks good but almost never play it i like BF1942, or even a older game beacuase the control reings supreme and that game is SOLDIER OF FORTUNE 2!

Well i just tried cod multiplayer and maybe its just not my thing but i find it extremely boring. DC is alot more intense and fun and allows more options of gameplay to satisfy the player.

That's why they have the engineer class - you don't need a vehilce to cause mayhem... hehe. Is there anyother class to play?

Over all, BF and it's mods have a lot of reply value - plus the crazy crap you can do when goofing off is worth it (especially 18 hours into a 24 hour lan party when everyone is loopy and silly from lack of sleep).

CoD is better looking, and the MP is excellent when done with team strats. Reminds me alot of RTCW mp tho....

Start with BF 1942 - it costs less right now and there lost of mods out (Desert Combat, Forgotten Hope, End of Days to name a few that actually work..... ) and the Secret Weapons expansion adds some fun to it., then get CoD because it's playable and slower paced the speeding around the map in jeep...

I've seen that too - on line, at LAN parties, and here at the house when my daughter and I mix it up. The hit box in BF is odd - we just consider it one of the things to make it challenging... hehe.

And who needs bullets when you have jeeps, apv's and hummers to run peoples over with?

The SAW's the weakest shot for shot firearm in DC, and as accurate as a Tomshardware review.
