Rest of setup is below in sig.

Running a 22" LCD at 1680x1050
 
4870 1 gig would be excellent at that resolution.
You might want a CPU upgrade soon though.
 
i got a question.. there wouldnt be much difference between 1gb and a 512mb on 1680X 1050 right?

no but at this point and going forward 1gb would make more sense. Far Cry 2 is the only current game I am aware of that will surpass 512mb at 1680 at settings that would actually still be playable.

agree and agree. his current X2 cpu at 3.2 want hold back a 4870 too bad at 1680 but anything faster would certainly go to waste with that cpu.
 
Cool thanks all, yeah I plan on getting the new video card. Then getting a new CPU.

More then likely the X3 720
