When I log out of hotmail, I see this:

Good thing I use Firefox 12.

I still have IE8, IE9 has different interface I don't get used to. Although chrome or firefox seems to be better browsers in both security and usability.

You can't really blame MS for being a bit behind. Firefox will probably be on version 100 before this December.

I only use firefox when I have to. Opera is my main browser. IMO, firefox has just turned to utter crap and I can't stand using it anymore.

You mean Microsoft's latest and greatest is finally better than old ass versions of Chrome and Firefox? Chrome is up to v19 and Firefox is v12

The mass public won't even notice that... gg Microsoft.

That graph is BS. Its just a ploy to get you to use IE. Firefox is my preference. Opera is my backup.

Several studies have shown that IE blocks much more of the socially engineered malware than the other browsers. Pretty much no one knowledgeable disputes this. And FF still does not run (by default) in a sandbox, IE has been sandboxed since IE7, I guess the million coder army will get around to that when they get around to it.. Each of the browsers have their pluses and minuses, malware blocking just happens to be one of IE's pluses..

Doesn't really work like that. The malware blocking in the browsers is done by sending the URL+file name to a server, it doesn't improve with each new version. MS probably got those numbers from a study when those versions were current, so though the other browsers malware blocking service may have improved since, so has MS'.

Damn, they're getting high in the version wars aren't they. Chrome 15, FF 12, IE9... I wonder when I can bust out that Dragon Ball Z "over 9000" quote? :p

I only use IE to login to my library's wifi as I sometimes have dozens of FF tabs waiting to be open when I start the browser.

They're pushing IE hard because they've been passed by Chrome for #1 overall and Firefox seems to be stealing away IE users as well, so eventually IE will be #3.
They can say whatever they want and come up with all the TV ads they want; I'm still not going to use IE9.
I have a feeling that that site also counts the mobile market into that graph.

According to this site it's a much different outlook. But then again it all depends on what site you want to show stats from to paint the picture ;).

Personally I prefer FF but I also use Chrome on occasion.

I use both of them and I can say Chrome is much faster than Firefox but I still can’t believe to the statistics that Chrome is more preferable.

If you're not happy with Firefox these days, check out PaleMoon. It's a Firefox variant that runs a lot better than Firefox. It's coded to run better on new processors and eliminates coding that supports older ones.

I'd forgotten about Pale Moon and have been looking for something new to try.....glad you mentioned that and glad I did. Right now I'm in love with Pale Moon x64. :) Uninstalled Chrome and Firefox...PM is now my browser of choice. ;)

Been mine for the last year on all my newer machines! Definitely runs a LOT faster than Firefox; both program loading time and page loading time.

you cant blame MS for choosing a version that most people likely have since most people dont update.
