Better SATA signal cables?

Much as I like SATA drives in general, I am appalled by the poor specification of the cable connectors - the power cable, but more particularly the signal cable.

I quickly replaced the cheap cables that came with my motherboard with some cables supplied with my RAID card. But these were only marginally better, and so I purchased some Akasa cables. They seemed reasonably tight at first, but soon became looser.

I am not unplugging and re-inserting cables every day! The only time that the cables can get disturbed is when I open the PC case - which happens just a few times each year. But if I disturb the cables at all (and with the loose fitting SATA cables this is all to easy to do), when I reboot I find that my RAID array has gone critical, and I have to rebuild it. One of these days, despite the care that I take, 2 cables are going to be slightly misplaced, and I will lose the RAID array altogether.

I have seen a Western Digital cable that abandons the SATA power socket, and provides a much more robust connection for the signal cable. But it only works with certain Western Digital drives, and I have doubts about their reliability (and don't want to have to replace all my drives!).

Is anyone aware of any SATA cables that provide a really secure connection?
