Hey I'm wondering, will either of these two power supplies have enough power to run a quad core system, with two hard drives, dvd-rom drive, 4gigs of ram, a high end 8800 vista card and a case which comes with 8 fans?

Antec 650

or

Corsair 620

Or would I have to go with something with more watts?

I would go with at least a 700+ I just upgraded from a 480watt to a 850watt and I love it.. go with 700+ and U should not have to worry about a new PSU for a while.. Check out the PSU I have in my sig it's a kick ass PSU and run's 6 +12 volt rail's at 18amp's each so I get 108 amp's with this thing.. and the peak Power is 1000watt's just make sure you buy a good PSU.. I would stay away from Antec and cheapo PSU's.. The Corsair you have picked out is nice and will handle you're PC fine.. But any other upgrade's and you might wanna go for more watt's alot of people don't realize how well a good PSU will help ur system run better and longer...

you'll be fine with the corsair, it will handle your system+ more without sweat, all those 1k watts psus are total overkill unless your running a system with 25+ hdds

Thanks for the replies, and Battl3fr0nt, I didn't know Antec PSU's were considered cheap. I have a 550w truepower that has been running for over 3 years now with no problem.

They aren't, though they haven't been considered "best quality" for a bit now.

Meanwhile, ignore the BS about the 700+ watt PSU. The 620 will easily run everything you've noted and another 8800 series card besides.

antec psus are fine but they just don't compare to seasonic or silvertsone psus build quality.

Ok guys I was doing some more searching on newegg and found an OCZ GameXStream 700 watt PSU for around the same price as the previous two I posted. I found that this PSU had the best rating of any PSU around the 600-700watt range. What would you guys say about the OCZ GameXStream brands?

Here is the one I was looking at.

Very poor choice. It's a FSP Epsilon rebadge, which means it gets out of spec ripple on the 12v rail near to rated capacity. There are far better options -- Corsair, Silverstone, Seasonic, PC Power and Cooling, Etasis, or even Xclio.
