I'm axiously awaiting the arrival of my new dual-core opteron 165. Which cooler is a better choice, all other things being equal, the retail AMD HSF that comes with the cpu or a Zalman 7000 AlCu? I plan on overclocking as high as possible. Case is a CM stacker with 3 120mm fans, as well as the 80 mm blowhole and 3 power supply fans.

Actually, neither are very good choices for serious overclocking is the general consensus.

There's a lot of fan-boy-ism with regard to coolers, but looking around you'll see a general consensus that the Scythe Ninja, Thermalright SI-120, and Zalman 9500 are the best around right now. Can't go wrong with any of the three. Check them out and see what you'd like the best. One thing about the 9500 is that you're stuck with the fan it comes with, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if it works for ya.

Still, those are the big three and all are excellent. Been very happy with my SI-120.
