Ok I will be the guinea pig and try the 178.35 beta drivers. Will report if worthwhile

if they stick to what they have been doing.. ive acually found the beta drivers to be more stable then the final drivers..

I am somewhat confused, I was almost certain I saw 178.35 beta but it was for xp only, so I looked around and thought I found for Vista but turn out I downloaded 177.35. Onward, I downloaded the 180.43 drivers and the fan control tab in Riva Tuner seemed to disappear as an option.

So far from what I’ve seen anyway all the newest drivers from EVGA ect. will run folding just fine.;)

Vista, 180.43 driver = no fan control in Riva either. Thought it was just me.
Folds without problems though.

I use low level fan control in RivaTuner 2.11 with the 180.43s.
Alex is adding support in the 2.12 for the 180s series drivers.

Are the 178.35 drivers any better at reducing lag in the system? I installed the 177.35's a couple weeks ago and still experience severe lag on my system. Any sort of java apps force me to pause the gpu client and if I don't pause it to open or close Firefox the system completely freezes for 30-90 seconds and/or crashes :(

I just got my main rig going full strength. I'm not touching anything. (3 rebuilds later)

I have to swap the CPU out in origami master and see if the botle neck is the mobo or the CPU.

If the new drivers give a good boots and have fan controll I'll make the move, but not yet.

You might want to back that OC down a wee bit;)
