They really do work, it's unbelievable!

Download and install at your earliest opportunity.

I switched from 1024x768 medium, to 1024x768 high with no problems (before it would slow down a lot in action scenes). This is with my 9700pro.

i installed the betas as well. my temp gauge on my koolance exos shot up about 2 degrees celsius when i played doom 3 compared to before...

I dont understand, are they skipping the Cat 4.8's altogether?

I think Ill wait until these are released as non-beta before I try them, the 4.7s are running fine on my 9800pro.

They have not skipped 4.8's. 4.8beta is improving on 3dMark03, and Farcry and 4.9beta is improving on Doom3. I am sure they are going to merge them when they are done...

Well, catalyst drivers usually come out around the 5th to the 10th, so the 4.8's are coming out soon.

I installed the 4.9 set last night, and they have worked perfectly so far. I got a nice bump in Doom 3 performance. went from average 30fps to average 33fps on my 9600xt 256mb playing at 800x600 High Quality

I installed the 4.9 beta drivers last night after playing Doom 3 on version 4.7

It made a huge difference as I am now able to play @ 1280x1024 High Quality on my 9800 pro with no skipping. I don't know what kind of FPS I get b/c I just now found the command, if anyone is interested I can post it.

I installed them last night but didn't get a chance to play much after that. The game seemed to be running smoother, but I'll be able to tell tonight for sure. One thing of note, the file name for the 4.9s is the "Doom 3 Hotfix" so they may just incorperate the changes into another release.
