I didn't really know where to put this, but wanted a few replies so I stuck it here.

Ive got an interview at bestbuy thursday, Is there anything in particular they ask at interviews? what should I be aware of? I'm pretty much asking specifically what Bestbuy does for interviews, not interviews in general. anyways thanks in advance.

I had an interview with best buy a couple of weeks ago.
What postion are you appying for?
I was going for the computer department, so thats what they were interveiwing me for.

tell them you hate thieves and would report your own mother if you caught her stealing.

that and you believe in, and purchase the service plan on everything you buy.

There, now your hired.

Knowlege isn't really considered when applying for BB, it's your willingness to whore yourself out to their nightmare scheduling and to do exactly what they tell you.

Have you ever spoken to a BB employee about technical things? You'll find more who talk out their ass than actually know what they are doing.

what do you mean by nightmarish scheduling? arn't they only open from like 9 til 9 or something? right now im working 12 midnight til 8am monday to friday, so I think anything would be better than that.

oh and the position is for customer service, but I'm going to try and talk to the lady and get into computers or something, not sure.

I'm talking different schedules every week, strange hours, always being understaffed, and you can count on working during holidays because there are only 2 days a year when BB is closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. Kiss your free time and family time goodbye.

but the discount is good.

When you are getting ready to leave the interview ask them at least 9 times if they want to buy the extended interview plan. Don't take "No" for an answer. Seems like most people that work there have mastered this skill to the point where it pisses me off.

answer truthfully, and if you say something that is actually wrong and the interviewer corrects you, just be honest and say "oh i didnt know that" or something. I thought I really fucked up my interview but I got hired, generally they will have a sales manager interview you, then the department manager, then the store manager to do the paperwork. Be truthful and honest with all of them.

also, when they ask you to pretend that they are a customer, ask "lifestyle questions" like, for computers, Who will be using it? What will you do on it? Are you short on space (then recommend LCDs). Then ask stuff like "Do you have broadband internet? And would you like to do work wirelessly all over the house (if buying a laptop).

During an interview you'll role play alot, but just act calm and cool, and be truthful, let them know you know alot not by saying it, but through the actions throughout the interview.
