I have tried VMWare, and Virtual Box. I was wondering if there is anything better to run guest operating systems in a Windows 7 64-bit host? Thanks.

Thats pretty much the two go tos. VBox being free of course. Not counting vmware player.

Ok...I just didn't know if there was something else....didn't Microsoft have something built into windows somehow? Some type of VM software?

I'm not saying I didn't like VMWare....I have basically just started messing around with VM's, and I don't know what is out there.

I would start with VMware Player and then move on to Workstation if you want to get some additional features.
Some versions of Widows 7 (Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate) have XP mode which allows you to run an XP VM in Windows 7.

Only thing there is not to like is the price
But it has been well worth it to me.
From my personal experiences, if you're emulating Microsoft OS'es within Windows and looking for a free bare bones solution that does the job well without any BS: VMPlayer.
If you want a free, yet decent all around solution than VirtualBox is the obvious choice with no real competition.
If you're willing to shell out $100 for probably the best solution for 99% of consumers, then VMWare Workstation is all you need, PERIOD! It does so much more than what people often use it for that it's commonly underestimated and considered a direct competitor with VirtualBox. I don't think it's really a competition to be truthful. Honestly, I think VMPlayer is more competitive with VirtualBox. Best to just install both though so you don't miss out on the features as one tends to have what the other lacks because VMWare wants to push you to Workstation ASAP.
[EDIT] Should add a lot of my lackluster respect for VB has much to do with Oracle running things now.
HyperV and ESXi are kinda there own thing so those are obviously not considered based off the input.
