Hey guys I'm building my new xp-m system tonight. What is the best way to track temperatures? Thru bios, or windows, or what?

If you plan on stress testing your rig, then you'll have to be in Windows. If you're just interested in making sure the CPU/HSF make adequate contact, BIOS would probably work.

For temperature monitoring in Windows, I use Mainboard Monitor 5.

I was going to post a new thread but I figure this thread will work;

Does MBM5 read the temps from the BIOS readings?

Pretty sure they both read the CPU temperature from the same sensor, the on-die thermal diode.

well

they read from what is given. some boards give both on-die and socket, so you gotta make sure youre using the right one. hint: on-die will be the higher one :D

Thanks for the replys guys. I'm using MBM5, and it's working great. Slick little program...
