What I am trying to do is record long segments of internet radio so I can use them on my mp3 player so when I am running or am at work I will have hours of something to listen to...these internet comedy shows would be perfect...

Search button brought up audacity...downloaded and got the mp3 exporting plugin.

My question is will my computer be able to record like, 8 hours of this wav thing at a time? I might just leave the recorder running all night while I sleep...

There is a stream ripper program for winamp that will do what you want. I've used it myself to capture internet radio.

I've used Audacity to record several hours of content before. I believe you're only limited to your hard drive space. You get a content folder when you record, and the folder is filled with all of your content in the project broken up into much smaller chunks so you won't hit a file size limit.
