Best way to partition?

I'm just curious of how you guys partition your drives. I have a single 120gb seagate in each of my computers (i throw a 60gb WD around to backup files). I was thinking of maybe, making 2 partitions? 1 = 115gb and 2 = 5gb for windows? But then, that means whenever I go to install anything, i.e. games, it'll always want to install to the windows partition, correct? There's nothing wrong with that, but it'll get annoying having to change the install directory everytime :) However, when I only have 1 partition that has everything on it, everything gets very cluttered.

I dunno, you guys got any advice?

DuncA!

This is how I have mine:
6 X 160GB Seagate Barracuda's...4 are dedicated to video editing, so they're single-partition. One is for storage...iso's, pron...important stuff. The remaining drive:
20GB - Windows 2000
20GB - Windows XP
20GB - Windows 2003
6GB - Swapfile, paging disks
83GB - Installed applications
When I install something, I install it on the last partition from all 3 OS's. Then I can run it from all 3 (just important stuff...games are all in XP). It's not such a big deal to point the installs to a different drive. It's not the most efficient setup, but I have plenty of room, so I'm not worried. Hope this helped!

zone I think I will use your strategy, but how much to give to winxp? You give it 20gb, can I get away with say, 10gb?

thanks

I was kinda torn on that one. I was deciding between 15GB or 20GB...but 10 should be fine.

Oh, BTW...I put Tweakui in on all 3 OS's, so My Favorites, My Documents, etc. are all the same. Make a new favorite in 2000, and it's there in XP and 2003 as well!
