best way to kill HD

I feel like killing a drive. Can you guys give me some suggestions?

What's the purpose of destroying the hard drive?

I like breaking things the warranty is just about over with and it's acting very weird (extra noise seems to stutter or something), but isn't completely dead yet so I'm gonna finish it off and get it replaced while I can. I'm afraid they won't take back a drive unless it's completely dead.

I turn on some Hendrix, plug in my lava lamps, then spray lighter fluid on top and strike a match.

Then I wiggle my fingers and wag my tongue at it.

Oh what fun I have.

At the end I scream at the drive... "Are you experienced!?!?! BIOTCH!!!"

Just run the manufacturer's diagnostic utility. If it comes out with an error code, that should be reason enough for them to accept an RMA.

Ya just run the manufactors program and if it finds something wrong then send it in.

your one of the reasons as to why there is "inflation" on parts, i frown upon what you are trying to do, its no different then adding ramsinks to a vid card, fucking up and sending it back, or oc a chip frying it in the process and sending it back

going to get a diagnostic tool now...

I'm afraid it'll die soon so I want to make sure that I get it replaced before the sucker dies on me! It's no longer fully functioning as it's supposed to.

Well if it isnt functioning properly you are half way there. The evil test programs should tell you something.. unless it was like my drive where it was unable to finish the test. Unfortunately for me.. it was covered under compaq not segate so no rma.

OK, i guess I don't have to damage it anymore than it is.... the diagnostic tool sent me to their site and I can just send it in....

But if you break it, the company may reject your drive. Isnt there some requirement where you have to ship the drive in a certain amount of packaging not show intentional signs of abuse blah blah?
