a while back i posted which heat sink is the best, but now i am thinking about water cooling!

*thunder + lightning*

whats the best water cooling system out there?

*EDIT - for my intel P4 hyperthreading prescott 3.2

needs more info.

What's your price range? Are you looking for best performance? looks? silence? are you willing to give up a degree or two for ease of installation? Do you want a kit? Would you mind building the system from various parts? Post AS MUCH INFO AS YOU CAN when asking these sorts of questions... (any sort of question, really).

ok er...

mainly i am looking for performance, but i don't want it too loud, looks isn't that important. price range is about $250? but either way i don't mind. Easy installation is good if it comes with the package, i don't want to be making a fridge from some random parts i found at the dump. Ideally i want a nice kit with super performance, easy to install, not too loud

does this help :)

if u research, you can figure out how to put it together:

from www.dtekcustoms.com

D-Tek WhiteWater Block P4 socket 478 - $54.99
Unpainted Pro 120 Core - $29.99
Eheim 1250 pump - $72.99 (you can find it cheaper elsewhere, just for reference)
D-Tek Bay Res. (High Density Polyethylene aka "good" :p) - $18.99
10' ClearFlex Tubing - $13.50
10-Pack nylon hose clamps - $7.50
4oz Zerex (from www.dangerden.com) - $4.50?
Distilled Water - <$5

So, there's an entire system for...$207, and they have the pump at DangerDen for like $59, so you can take off $13, and its under $200....another cool thing, dtek gives you a discount for purchases over $100, so you'd get like a 10-20% discount (not sure what it is)....

hope that helps! and if you don't like the 3-barbed look, go for the dangerden TDX (the DD site isn't working for some reason...?)

cool, really appreciate it :D don't you reckon, it would run better with anti freeze instead of water? when i did karting, that used to be what cooled my engine :D

No, water will actually cool better. Antifreeze is used for anticorrosive properties and lowering the freezing point of water.

Zerex = antifreeze. It lowers the freezing point and raises the boiling point of water. You can put in a very small amount of antifreeze( like 5%) for its antialgae properties but it doesnt flow as well as water so its not recommended to go to much higher % .

Will you be cooling your Vid card? Thatll add another dimension to the whole thing.

Add onto the list above a decent quality 120MM fan like a sunon or such, around $10.00

If noise is a concern you will maybe want to get a rheostat to control fan speed. but that can be done later if it bothers you at all. I was worried my fans would bug me as ithe exhaust 120mm fan sits close to my head so I bought a 6-fan controller, but its on almost full speed all the time and no bother.

sry, forgot about the fan...but yeah, isn't my list wonderful? :p

Alex its a little D-Tek heavy for my taste ;) BUt itll kick out some serious performance.

well, see, the only reason i didn't do dangerden (i would usually have done that) is that the site wasn't working for me. If i clicked on any part, it would say something not found, so i couldn't. but yeah, definitely check out dangerden.com
