Best Water Block

the best waterblock is the DongRipper5000. It harnesses the power of the DongDojo Ninjas who steal the heat away from your processor in the night.

Sounds like someone has a fetish for dongs!? :eek:

I always love these kinds of questions as the place gets lively for a while. ;)

The best block is this Ram cooler made by Aqua Computer.

Or were you speaking in reference to a CPU cooler? If so then there is none better IMHO than the Aqua Computer Cuplex XT.

Maybe you were talking about a chipset cooler? Here is the best SLI cooler made by none other than Aqua Computer. :p

Or how about the Silver Cuplex XT :D

Okay back to reality and you tell us what you mean by the "best." Best in what? Looks, cooling ability, OC, specific tube size...

so what do you do during the day if you want to use your comp? :p

The best waterblock is the one you want the most. All have their pluses and minuses.

@TopNurse

i was juss wondering is there an english Aquacomputer site or a site that sells the ramcooler? since you are ACguru thxthx

If you want it now then go to Leftclicks in the UK. If you can wait a while then supposedly Sharka has them on order. Now when Aqua Computer will deliver is a totally unanswerable issue. :(

I still want to see hydra (or whatever your phantom gpu block is called) gimme my cathar gpu block!!

Speaking of which how long to delivery? Come up with a cost yet for my bling G7?

You can't just say which CPU/GPU block is best, it is much more important to figure out which one would be best in your system. You have to take into consideration how powerful your pump is, how much head it has, how much heat your CPU is putting out, how big your radiator is, how restrictive it is, what other components will be in the loop, what other water blocks will be in the loop, etc. Its all very complicated so its not as simple as just buying what many people call the best water block. Although, its hard to go wrong with a G5/G7 ;)

Jesus H Christ. This thread took a nosedive. The guy asked for a recommendation on what your opinion is of the best waterblock........not a dissertation, not Aqua Computer SPAM, and not useless (and might I add quite disturbing) jokes.

Throw your block opinion up (as I did), and let he guy figure it out for himself. :mad:

I think the fun started with the Swiftech Spam on post # 3. ROFLMAO

At least my post was tongue in cheek if you read the last sentence I posted.

As I originally said I love it whenever anyone posts a question like the OP did. It really livens the old place up, heh?

Really? The way I see it not even your second in command of the Aqua Computer Legion R1ckCa1n decided to thread crap. You were the only one who decided to try and turn this into an AC vs. the world thread.

The main rig in my sig uses the older style Evo cpu block, which has been adaquate for what its current use is, but its still one of my personal 'bests' for the sheer beauty of it. The next X2 rig will be all higher flow and I can't see going with anything other than Cathar's new series block as I like the current approach he's taking with cooling effeciency.

best high flow = storm G4 (G5/G7 isnt a retail product)
best low flow = ? aquacomputer maybe

I agree with the first statment.............. :cool:

But the second one isn't even close.................Alphacool or 1A-Cooling perform much better.............. :eek:

wow thanks guys for your responses, seems to me more like a IMHO type of thing. Here’s the run down;

I've been moding cases for sometime now but mostly working with air cooling (mostly because of the cost) I bought a koolance case about two years ago and that’s what I house my AMD machine in. It gets ok temps but I've been reading these forums like crazy for the last year and I ready to mod the sh&t out of it. Right now I have one loop, but the rad is freaking huge, it can totally fit two 120's up there instead of 3 80's the three 80's are as loud as I can stand to get ok temps for my max OC (2.78 on 3500 Venice/A8n-SLI D/cors. XMS ext) I have the chipset (because that fan sucked on that A8n) and my cpu in the loop right now.

What I plan to do is set the chipset and the SLI cards up on one loop, and have a secondary loop just for the CPU. Now I might be using the wrong terminology but when I say second loop I mean second separate system all together. The case I have it in is HUGE and there is a ton of room to work with. Seeing all the MNPCTECH mods on those cases gave me a ton of ideas. From what I have read and seen, I’m definitely a AC fan. But it seems DD and swiftech all have there advantages for different components. I plan to use the rad from the koolance case, unless it’s a piece of junk.

So my defined question; if you were to put together your best wc system including SLI config/chipset/HD/CPU in the loop how would you do it and what components would you buy?

Thanks again guys/gals
:D
<edit>
oh yeah, and what is the advantage of having a fast flowing system to the slow flowing system?
</edit>

Assuming you are using the Koolance radiator what size is the spigot? Some are 1/4" and some are 3/8". If you decide to use the Koolance then I would veer towards the AC or Innovatek side of things as most of the German coolers are easily adaptable from 1/4" to 3/8" ID tubing including 8mm as an option. Some like the Alpahcool are able to use up to 1/2" tubing as well though they have no distribution lines here in the USA. In recent empirical tests the Aquastream pump gets about one GPM flow rate using a flowmeter attached to an Aquaero. So that gets you really up to the moderate flow class assuming you only use 1-2 waterblocks in that loop.

The Aquastream pump would be a good choice if you are going to go with two loops as they have OC ability right from the controller. The Innovatek HPPS Plus pump are likewise capable. If you were to ever think about an Aquaero then definitely go with the Aquastream as they are controllable through the Aquaero interface and software. Another good choice would be the new Asetek pumps as they have their own software interface and reservoir built in. In my Feeding Frenzy project I have one Aquastream on the CPU and NB circuit, one on the SLI GPU circuit, and one on the HD circuit.

Depending on taste and tubing size you could go with either a Cuplex XT or a Swiftech Storm CPU block. The Storm will probably perform better from a cooling point of view, though there is no direct comparisons, assumming you use 8mm or bigger tubing. If you decide to go with the 1/4" tubing then the AC block will probably perform better at the lower flow rates.

There is no real advantage to going with a high flow system unless you match all the component parts to utilize the higher flowing system. Conversely mating a lower flowing system to a higher flowing block is not a good idea either. Others will weigh in here and tell you different, but I see typically only a 1-2 degree difference between different cooling philosophies which just goes to show you how advanced water cooling technology has become. So I think the choice, between high or low, is more a matter of preference. You will be probably be happy with either choice.

As far as the GPU's go some prefer combo coolers like the Danger Den NV-68 or the Aqua Computer AquagraFX series blocks. If you decide on a combo cooler then the AC units are the way to go as the GPU sink floats in the block and eliminates problems of memory mismatch to GPU problems. My personal opinion is that combo coolers are not a good investment as everytime you buy a new card then you have to buy a new waterblock for it. That was the reason I decided to use TwinPlex's to cool my GPU's and just utilize the stock ram heatsinks.

combo blocks arent really worth it, theres no point in cooling the RAM via the block and you have to buy a new block every time a new card comes out. As for the power regulators there designed to run at high temperatures all they need is a good heatsink, again theres no point in cooling them via the block.

Well, yeah, the PolarFlo TT is supposed to own all but Cathar's... or so I hear :)

I personally picked a DangerDen TDX + Maze4 :)

Alright, let's hear it. For Nvidia 6800, FX3400/ FX4400 series card, name 3 top GPU cooler that is way up there.

You/I forgot the *bling* factor. :D Let's face it this is really a nice looking block:

AC fan. Stop spamming AC gears regardless the question, i am sick and tired to see everythread is spam with ac stuff no matter what the OP asked for. You always put looks or your so call bling bling shitbling above all other aspect the OP is asking. I wonder who here think the Storm or the TDX is fugly??? I have never see other people being a fan of DD or just swiftech. All other people are open to different manufacturer depending on the preference or cooling capability. Only you, only you would ac everything for people with questions. german this, german that. this is getting super annoying. Does your little friend at home made by germans too???

Now don't get me wrong, i have a new ML at home too, but i don't go spam everyone else's ear or eyes with how good german product is. I got it because i like it, period.

Now back to topic, The MP-05 looks like a good block, really curious how it compare to storm. How does the MCW55 perform? But really, the best block is individual opinion. However, the Market determines best depending on market demand. If it is the best then demand will be high.

I responded to the OP a little tongue in cheek on my first post and then I listened to what the OP said on his second post and responded appropriately which is more than I can say for some others here. :rolleyes:

Added: BTW, IMHO the Storm and TDX are both fugly. There is no helping the TDX, but the Storm would look fantastic with some nickel plated fittings and a clear plexi mounting plate.
