What is the best, preferably free visualizer anyone has come across?

I need one for tonight
 
No, something like the itunes/WMP visualizers....but standalone....or maybe even with MP3 playing support so that it can react to the music.
 
It's been a while but I was always partial to milkdrop and geiss.

edit: Didn't notice you want standalone. By standalone what exactly do you mean? I know there are a few paid apps out there for doing visuals at events and that sort of thing, but are commercial packages and not worth the money for home use. You could always use winamp as a player and run milkdrop, geiss or even the AVS built in to winamp.
 
Milkdrop 2.2 at max settings run in Desktop Mode is wicked cool
