I'm not a hardcore gamer anymore, but occasionally play games and do some video watching and lightweight editing. I'd like a little better video performance than the Geforce 9500GT can push. My current system is set up as mostly a workstation machine that I can do everything from system administration of remote machines to testing of Hyper-V virtual machines locally to writing scripts/code. I'm currently running Windows 8 Developer preview and will probably continue to do so until the Windows 8 beta comes out due to the badass Hyper-V among other things.

Here are the relevant pieces of hardware:Now.. since these monitors, which I love, only have VGA and DVI connections, I need a dual-DVI card or at least a card that can be adapted to run two monitors via DVI. I really don't play a lot of games so I don't really want to spend more than about $100, but that 9500GT card that I had lying around is really old and slow so it shouldn't be hard to get a decent upgrade from that. I don't really intend to add another card later for the current purchase to work with. I'd have a to say I normally lean toward NVidia over ATI just based on longevity of cards purchased over the last 15 years, but not by a lot. With all that of that in mind, does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

6770 is the pretty clear winner in the under $100 range. If you can swing $130-$140 you could get a 6850 or 6870 which is quite a bit better card.

6850 for $129

Yea, you might even be able to get Dual 5770's since your Mobo will support it...around the same price. The 6770 is prettymuch the 5770, but still budget friendly.

(for example i picked up my 5750 New for $75 due to a local gamer RMA'ing his old card and got this one as a replacement for free as he was given dual cards from his brother)

Deals are out there for the 5k and 6k Radeon Cards and alot of NVIDIA cards as well... Im still searching for my next upgrade.

Agreed, my brother got a 6750 and was happy with that running BF3 with stuff looking fairly pretty. :) He paid $85~ at the time.

A Radeon 6770 would be a decent upgrade inside your price range (after MIR) and allow gaming at 1080p with reduced settings. For example this XFX 6770 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150560 (with lifetime warranty)

From Nvidia there is the GTS 450 for about the same price, but a little slower and consuming more power than the 6770. Zotac 450 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500187
