wht is the "best video card for the price under $130usd.? for the games like, "fear,cod2,quake4,darkmessiah,scareface,battlefield2,andbf2142.

i like to play fps games and online games, and rpg games also like oblivion and dark messiah. and i need to buy a really good card. it does not matter AGP or wht ever, as long as it will run those games really good. just need it really fast so plz if u can help. or if it passes tht price which one would u recommend?

Woah! Slow down.

Buying a PCI-E card for an AGP mobo would just make your new card a paperweight.

Same goes for AGP card into PCI-E mobo.

At that price range, your card might be able to run at near high settings, but it depends on the rest of your system. Specs?

I recommend the 7600 GT is you can find it for $130 or less.

Um, as stated above, yes it does.
We're going to need some specs before we can help.

lol.. you need to know what type motherboard you have so you know what card to buy.

Buying an AGP graphics card for a PCI-e motherboard would be like trying to reach outer space in a prop airplane.

To put it into computer terms, if you try to shove an AGP card into PCIe board (or vice versa), you will not only f*ck up the card but likely the board as well..Perhaps other components too, if you happen to somehow cause a short in the process.

And again like others said, specs are needed..Motherboard model (probably most important here since we need to know AGP/PCIe to make card recommendations), CPU type/model/speed/(overclocking?), power supply used, memory (amount & model/speed rating)..Anything else you can give us..Either download Sandra or Everest Home, and scan for (most of) the info, otherwise open up the case and look @ parts for the rest (while off of course ;)).

wht is the really difference between agp and pci, wht are the effects.

Simple answer. A PCIe card will not fit in an AGP slot, and vice versa. Kind of like trying to pound a square peg in a round hole. And as said before, even if you did manage to jam it in there, your mobo and card would be fucked up beyond belief.

If you really want help, your going to have to post up some specs, otherwise any answers you get will be useless to you.

And yeah, if you have an AGP system, that's a great bang for the buck card. But worthless if you have a PCIe mobo.

I own that card, and its not that bad. Its sexy looking though because the XFX logo and heatsink shroud lights up green. :p

As far as game playability, I'd still aim for a 7600. The 6800xt doesn't cut it if you want things to look pretty. Also, it would help us if we had the rest of the specs of your system like processor type/speed, how much memory, etc.

i have a AGP slot, ok, my ? is that which is the best for those games i mentioned and "ok" for "an" "AGP" slot. but is this card good?

Add $50 to your budget and you could look at something like this. Might be a better choice.

this is my

AMD sempron processor 3100+
1.8ghz, 704mbRAM

might not need this info but just for case u cry for it,
external asus dvd_+rw burner, internal cd-rw/dvd-rom drive, 4hd's internal, 30gb,30gb,15gb,100gb, 19inch acer monitor, resolution on 1440*900 (32 bpp),

anything else u video card geeks?

so wht u suggest? the 7600 or 6800, or any other ones? thanx..........

You're also going to need more ram or else BF2/BF2142 is going to take minutes to load. Your best bet is the 7600gt if you can find one in your price range, if not a 7600gs or a x1650pro.

You're really getting on my nerves.

First, we're trying to help you, so I don't know if you learned this, but you generally don't insult people trying to help you- They generally will stop helping you.

We asked for specs because we could then make an informed decision to better help you. We didn't ask just because we wanted to, we asked so that you could avoid making a mistake that would cost you a lot of money.

You're not worth helping, jackass. Treat the people who can help you with a little more respect.

lol, hey i was just joking, didnt u see at the end i said "thanx...."

i was really joking, dont take it seriously, thanx, see ya later...........im getting the 7600gt.

Could it be that the original poster was getting confused with PCI and PCI-Express? Sounds to me like the OP has a motherboard with an AGP slot but would consider getting a card for the (regular) PCI slot is need be.

With that being said, I believe AGP graphics cards are better than PCI (not express) video cards. I would recommend getting a video card of the AGP variety over a PCI slot video card.

...just my $ 0.02 ....

Well, when you're talking to a person face to face, it's a lot easier to have a sense of humor. But with text, the line between joke and insult thins considerably.
