Now all the stuff i listed may or may not be relevant, but I'm hoping someone who understands UPS better then I do and it isn't as convoluted and over my head as the FAQ is could lend me a hand. Basically I just want the UPS to give me enough time to shutdown in case of an emergency or brown out

Would this do?

the total system is about 1.2k and i hoping to expand to dual 8800gtx's and probably a new PSU later on to support it. do i really need that expensive of a UPS? 360 is pretty expensive o_O whats the benefits over the one i linked?

It would take awhile to explain.

(1) Get your home-owners or renters insurance to cover lightening & voltage surge damage, probably $50 a year.

(2) Buy a highly rated refurb for arornd $130.
